Good Web Design vs Bad Web Design

Some webpages that have a good design include:

  1. http://planoeastmsa.org: One of my best friends designed this page for his high school's MSA. I love the flow of the page. He also made the logo and graphics, and I like how interactive the page is.
  2. www.twitter.com: Twitter has a good webdesign because there is no clutter. Everything is straightforward and easy to figure out. That doesn't mean that there is a lack of information present. Rather, the information is displayed so that it's easily accessible.

On the other hand, these webpages have bad web designs:
  1. http://www.valweb.org/: This webpage is obviously aesthetically unappealing. The pictures are placed in random places with no organization, there is no set color scheme, and many random fonts are used on this page.
  2. http://rense.com/: This ads on this website are SO distracting that you wouldn't assume that this site had any other purpose than as an internet billboard. But it's actually a group of conspiracy theorists' site. You just would never know. The colors are horrible, there is no form of navigation on this site, and looking at this webpage gives me a headache.
